A glittering professional's career can conceal many of the most tragic stories. Lolo Jones, who won both USA championships and the World Championships in hurdle events was able to achieve her place with much effort and a huge amount of patient. Jones had a difficult childhood due to her being born to a single mother within a large household. Her mother was constantly moving and even lived in the basement of the church. Jones had to be moved to another school every year up until her high school years because of this nomadic existence. Jones needed to be separated from her mother in Theodore Roosevelt School to follow her passion for track. Jones stayed in four residences during her high school years in order to study at one location. Jones won the Gatorade Iowa Track and Field Award for the Best Athlete in high school. She was a part of the school orchestra, as a cello player. Jones began her career at the college level as one of the top hurdlers. In 2002, at the NCAA Track & Field Championship she took home the 100-meter hurdles. Jones was also part of the team that finished second in the 100-meter Relay event. Jones took home both the indoor and outdoor hurdles events at the NCAA Championship in 2003. Jones began her track and field career in 2005 when she completed her studies at the university. She won both the Torino Memorial and the Heusden Track competitions in the same year.
Brandt relocated to Auckland, New Zealand after moving from Cape Town South Africa in late adolescence. Brandt, identified by local casting agencies, took the lead character of Naevia on the Starz blockbusters Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena. In the course of her collaboration alongside Steven S. D Knight's and Sam Raimi's producers, she was an instant movie star. Mazikeen, a fan-favorite Vertigo/DC comic book character and Vertigo/DC series Lucifer was her role in the hit Netflix show. Lucifer has broken record for binge watching and was named as the best binged show in 2021 by Forbes. Brandt is next seen in a six-episode Walking Dead limited spin-off starring Andrew Lincoln and Danai Giurira that will premiere in 2024. Brandt is also set to star alongside Jason Ritter Anthony Carrigan and Chris Meloni in the adult animated show Captain Fall which airs July 2023 on Netflix. Lesley-Ann Brandt was born 2nd December the 2nd of December 1981 at Cape Town South Africa. She is an accomplished New Zealand actress. Lesley Brandt, along with her whole family, moved to Auckland New Zealand back in 1999. In Auckland she began working as a salesperson, and then be promoted to the position of IT manager consultant. Lesley began modeling, after which she began appearing in commercials. She completed her acting major and continued her training in Meisner techniques of learning. Lesley's debut prominent role in New Zealand was as a TV actor in Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt appeared in the New Zealand drama Shortland Street in the role of a guest supporting part. She then appeared in This Is Not My Life. It is based off the actual story of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt was cast as Naevia her young hostage. She was featured later in the Spartacus: Gods of the Arena miniature series in the Television show Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
